As I wrote before in another topic here at MacMundi, I believe the best of Mac OS X's qualities is the fact that it doesn't "rott" over time. I mean, the system shows no noticeable degradation of performance or stability as time goes by. That is true, but you should do your best to keep the system optimized anyway, performing maintenance tasks at least once every month. And there's no better solution for that than using Titanium Software's Maintenance: it is free, easy to use and works flawlessly.

To use Maintenance, do as follows:

1- Go to Titanium Software's website and download Maintenance, then install it.

2- Open the Applications folder and double-click the Maintenance icon to open it.

3- Wait as Maintenance performs an automatic disk check. The system will seem to hang, but don't worry, that's normal.

4- When the disk check process is over, adjust the settings as shown above.

5- Click on the "Execute" button. Wait as the software performs the maintenance tasks, and then click on "Restart" to restart the computer. That's it!
