There is no equivalent to Windows "Start Menu" on Mac OS X. To open an application you must double-click its icon inside Mac OS X's Applications folder.
To view the contents of the Applications folder you'll need the Finder, Mac OS X's files and folders manager (similar to Microsoft Windows Explorer). A Finder window is automatically opened when you double-click the icon of a storage device on the desktop (hard disk, CD, DVD, etc), or by clicking on the Finder icon located on the Dock. |
