To restart your computer, click on the apple icon on the upper left corner of the screen and choose "Restart". You will see a popup window showing a 2 minutes regressive count. To restart immediately, press ENTER on your keyboard.

To turn off the computer the process is almost identical: click on the apple icon and choose "Turn off". The rest is just the same.

The apple menu, open by clicking the small apple figure on the upper left corner of the screen.

By now, you may be asking yourself: well, that was a lot easier to do on Windows, wasn?t it? All I had to do was to push the on/off button on the computer case, and the system would shutdown by itself... Well, that's true, you're right. Turning off a Mac is not as simple as turning off a PC... But there is a trick which can make things easier: if you have an Apple keyboard, you can turn off your Mac by pressing simultaneously the Control and Eject keys for about one second, and then pushing ENTER. (Note: the eject key is the one with a small triangle, on the upper right corner of the keyboard).
